When in Stardew Valley... Watch Out for the Animal Crossing!
Grab your shovels and your watering cans!
This episode we are discussing two life simulators that approach the genre from very different angles, in Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley!
Animal Crossing is the quintessential cutesy Nintendo time-sink, where you wile away the hours catching bugs, fishing, gardening, decorating and paying off crippling amounts of debt to a shifty looking racoon... but is it actually any fun, or more of an obligation?
Stardew Valley is lauded for its laid back gameplay style, freedom of choice and gorgeous soundtrack, but what is it that keeps players returning to their farms for more?
Plus we introduce a new feature, which goes horribly wrong in its debut week as Jay falls victim to clickbaiting!
All in all, par for the course then!
**Trigger Warning**
Please be aware that we briefly discuss the subject of suicide in this episode which may be triggering for some listeners.
